A professional hoop dancer, Colleen Costello has performed at corporate events, cabarets, clubs, streets and stages across Canada. From private lessons to hoop classes, from kids birthday parties to family festivals she can also be found enthusiastically teaching and sharing her love of hooping and the combination of sport, dance and imagination it fosters.
With a strong background in music and children’s theatre, Colleen specializes at including kids (and adults!), even the shy ones, so they can enjoy learning and exploring hoops using movement, games, music and teamwork. She has worked in kids fun zones for Zero Gravity Circus, Family Hoops and Sugar Hoops at places such as Toronto Arts & Crafts field trip festival at Fort York and the Toronto Harbourfront international circus festival, HarbourKIDS.
She teaches private lessons and classes in Toronto and she led a choreography workshop for the downtown festival SpinSpiration in 2013. Bringing a down to earth joy and a sense of humour to the stage, Colleen has done LED glow hoop performances with Isabella Hoops Entertainment and Sugar Hoops as well as character driven double hoop acts in venues like the Mod Club in Toronto and The Wise Hall in Vancouver.
